Dear DOLLY, My friends all have their signature scents and I don't know where to start to pick mine, there are so may out there! Is there a trick to choosing a scent? Are there any fragrances you can suggest?
A: There are so many brands and fragrances bringing out the Next Scrumptious Thing, it’s totally natural to feel a bit overwhelmed. So hit the fragrance hall armed with a notebook and ask for fragrance cards. Pop them each in between separate pages of your book, keeping them away from each other. Then walk away and don’t think about it for a while.
When you're at home, open it up and go through it, throwing out the fragrance cards you don’t like and popping to the side the ones you don’t mind. Then go back to the fragrance hall and ask for a spray of your shortlisted fragrances (ideally, you should only have two or three). Put them on different parts of your arms and make note of which one is sprayed where. Then leave for a few hours and see how the scent develops on your skin and what you think of it as the day goes on. Chances are you will rule out a few and fall in love with one. That’s your perfect scent!
